Steven W. Pickering
Steve Pickering, President of Nexus Advisors, has over 12 years of non-profit experience, serving in various leadership capacities. During this time, Steve also advised non-profit and trade associations on human resource issues, employee training, grant writing and administration, and financial reporting. Academically, Steve has undergraduate and graduate degrees in organizational leadership with an emphasis in non-profit administration. Steve is a certified project manager and is currently pursuing a doctorate in leadership.

Matthew McLaughlin
Matthew McLaughlin, Vice President of Regulatory Compliance, has more than 15 years’ experience advising charitable organizations and trade associations on regulatory compliance matters, corporate governance, public policy, and tax matters. Matthew is the founding shareholder of McLaughlin, PC, a boutique commercial law firm that represents and advises clients operating in regulated business environments. Previously, Matthew served as the executive director of the Mississippi Brewers Guild, the trade association representing the interest of independent craft breweries located in Mississippi. In 2017, in consideration of his considerable contribution to public policy and legislative initiatives in the craft beer industry, Matthew was awarded the F.X. Matt Defense of the Craft Brewing Industry Award by the Brewers Association, the national trade association for the craft beer industry.

Conner Reeves
Conner Reeves, Vice President of Government Affairs, has more than 7 years’ experience serving various non-profit and trade association clients on regulatory and legislative matters. Conner is a lawyer with McLaughlin, PC and previously served as general counsel to the Mississippi State Medical Association, the state’s largest and oldest trade association for physicians.
Conner regularly represents clients in matters before regulatory agencies and advises clients on government relations projects. He is also a recipient of the Mississippi Business Journal’s Leadership in the Law Award.
